Korean Men’s Doubles players earned a good reputation in the past, but most of these players retired after RIO Olympics. Therefore, Korean National team underwent a major renewal of players after the Olympics. However, this young and new Korean National team was fearless, which made them win the first Sudirman Cup Champion in 14 years. Moreover, Korean Women’s Doubles emerged as an important figure.
Korean National team assigned 3 pairs of Women’s Doubles to attend 2017 Danisa Denmark Open presented by VICTOR. Lee So Hee and Shin Seung Chan reached the finals this week. They defeated the 6th seeded Japanese pair Shiho Tanaka and Koharu Yonemoto in finals, and lifted their first Superseries trophy.
Shin Seung Chand and Lee So Hee were exciting about the winning.

Lee So Hee / Shin Seung Chan had paired up in their youth. Besides, they captured the World Junior Championship title for two years in a row, but they were split in late 2015. Lee paired up with Chang Ye Na, and Shin partnered with Jung Kyung Eun.
Lee So Hee / Chang Ye Na were the champions of 2017 all England Open. In addition, they were silver medalists at 2017 Indonesia Open and 2017 Korea Open. The pair is World No.3 in Women’s Doubles now.
Shin Seung Chan / Jung Kyung Eun were the bronze medalist of RIO Olympics. They are World No. 5 in this moment.
Korean National team strategically changed the partnership in Women’s Doubles pairs at Denmark Open. Lee and Shin paired up to attend this Superseries Premier tournament. They defeated 3 pairs of seeded players to earn the title. Shin said “Our partnership is still testing now. It is so exciting to take the crown at the end.”

Malaysian pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai impressed everyone at 2017 Denmark Open. Although the Malaysian players didn’t perform well this week, World No.14 Mixed Doubles pair Goh and Shevon made a breakthrough at Denmark Open. They reached semi-finals in Superseries for the first time.
This week, the queen Tai Tzu Ying won a bronze medal after she retired due to shoulder injury in Japan. Korean No.1 Men’s Singles player Son Wan Ho won a bronze medal also.
Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai reached semi-finals in Superseries for the first time.
