Ko Sung Hyun teamed up with Kim Gi Jung as the new Korean men’s doubles. Despite a seven-year separation as teammates previously, they delivered superb results in Japan Open Superseries. Although they lost in Men’s Doubles finals to the Chinese team Li Junhui & Liu Yuchen on Sunday, the two demonstrated abundant experience with exceptional collaboration that successfully earned them a glorious spot at the medal ceremony.

Winning fiercely in the first four rounds, world no.1 Ko Sung Hyun and Kim Ha Na also made it to the Mixed Doubles finals coming up against the up-and-rising Chinese team Zheng Siwei & Chen Qingchen. Unfortunately, Ko and Kim were unable to avenge their lost in Thailand Masters and brought home a silver medal instead.

VICTOR Korean National Badminton Team has not only performed well in Japan Open’s Men’s Doubles and Mix Doubles. In Men’s Singles, Son Wan Ho defeated the Rio Olympics bronze medalist Viktor Axelsen in two straight sets in quarterfinals. Son lost in the semifinals to Jan O JORGENSEN who won second place afterwards. Regardless, Son has reached his top personal record as top four in Japan Open.
