2016-06-07

 COLLISION COURSE
#TeamVICTOR’s Tai Tzu Ying, who defeated China’s Wang Yihan on Sunday to win her first Superseries Premier title, is on collision course to play Wang again in another three days should the both seeded players make the quarterfinals this week at the Australian Open Superseries. Tai edged Wang last week by the scores of 21-17, 21-8, which was the fifth win for Tai in their eighth meeting.

 ADVANTAGEOUS POSITION
Former world no.3, Malaysia’s top mixed doubles duo Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon  are seeded in a Superseries event for the first time since the return of Goh after knee surgery. They are currently no.10 in the world and are seeded seventh this week in Sydney. However, they are likely to meet defending champions, VICTOR Hong Kong’s Lee Reginald Chun Hei and Chau Cathy Hoi Wah in the second round.

“Asian Champions” Lee and Chau have climbed up to as high as No.6 in 2014 and are taken as one of #TheRealDeal and Hong Kong’s best hopes for the podium at the Olympic Games, which no player from their country has achieved.
